The Cosumnes Community Services District (CSD) is dedicated to enriching the lives of local residents through parks, recreation, and community services. Their latest endeavor, the CORE Recreation Center, is a two-story, 59,000-square-foot facility designed to offer diverse fitness and wellness programs for people of all ages.
MTA partnered with Cosumnes CSD to furnish the administrative offices, public lounge, and collaboration areas within the new CORE facility. The goal was to provide furniture solutions that could withstand high traffic, support a wide range of activities, and create a warm, inviting environment for the community.
Though the footprint of the furnished areas was relatively small, the spaces needed to serve multiple community needs, including areas for gathering to watch games, areas for small group interaction as well as areas for respite. MTA addressed this challenge by thoughtfully dividing the space into flexible, multi-functional zones using a mix of durable, easy-to-maintain furniture.
The result is a dynamic environment that blends comfort, functionality, and community spirit. The CSD team was thrilled with how the final design supports both staff and members while staying true to CORE’s mission of promoting health, movement, and connection.
