In 2010, the Pillsbury Law firm relocated from a downtown high-rise
office building into a new, environmentally sustainable LEED low-rise
office building in midtown Sacramento. The firm’s goal was to create an
environment that was more pro- gressive than a traditional law firm and
to reflect Pillsbury corporate culture. The office, located on the
second floor, has views to the tree-lined streets below. The interiors
and furnishings reflect a forward-thinking approach with a warm and ca-
sual color palette. The twenty attorney offices were planned using a
smaller foot- print than their original space. MTA achieved the square
footage savings by us- ing highly functional casegoods in a sleek,
modern design. The casegoods were specifically designed for performance
in smaller offices incorporating technology accessories and user-centric
smart storage. The attorneys were given freedom for individual
tailoring to meet their workstyle needs. The interiors achieved LEED
GOLD certification for new construction.
