Miles Treaster in Memoriam:

To our friends, clients, and associates,

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our founder Miles Treaster Sr. Miles was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and employer.  For over four decades, Miles inspired the Sacramento interior design community through his love of modern furnishings and design. Founded in 1958, Miles Treaster & Associates (MTA) grew to be the largest Herman Miller Furniture distributor in the central valley. As a Sacramento business owner, Miles cared very deeply for his extended MTA family and provided many with unique opportunities for professional growth and ownership. Upon retirement in 2006, Miles desired to carry on his legacy by graciously selling the company to its employees.

Miles served on many boards throughout his career including, the Sacramento Tree Foundation, Valley Vision, YMCA, United Way, Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and SACTO.  A noted philanthropist, Miles gave generously to many art and environmental charities.

It was Miles' personality that has left an indelible imprint on all of us who worked alongside him, his cheerful attitude towards life and his kindness towards others is what he will always be remembered for.  Miles will be greatly missed by his family, former and current employees, friends and associates. In his memory, MTA extends its thanks and appreciation to all those who offered support and condolences during this difficult time. 

Services will be held on Sunday, November 18 at 3pm at W.F. Gormley & Sons, 2015. Capital Avenue, Sacramento. Reception to follow at The Sutter Club from 4:30 - 7:30pm

Miles Treaster & Associates will host a Celebration of Life at  MTA's showroom at 3480 Industrial Blvd, West Sacramento, on Wednesday, November 28th from 5:00 - 7:30pm
