In December of 2006, Miles Treaster & Associates (MTA) established an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). This strategy was developed to fund the purchase of company stock by the ESOP from profits generated by the company.


Since 1993, MTA has increased revenues by 300% and the value of the company has increased by over 800%. Employee ownership is not just about fulfilling an ideal: it also promises practical payoffs for the company and its clients. First, broad ownership helps to ensure the long-term sustainability of the company and its values. Rather than being dependent on a single owner, MTA can now count on an entire staff of 68 to further the mission of the company. MTA’s ESOP is very entrepreneurial. It calls for a combination of associate ownership and associate participation. Each vested associate has a beneficial interest in the stock held by the ESOP, as well as input in the decision making process. They also have the responsibility to make sure that their individual work efforts are exceptional and business decisions are made wisely.

Since 1958, MTA has provided the following services: furniture layout and specifications, space planning, installation, relocation, furniture cleaning, and furniture repair. MTA represents Herman Miller, Inc., a leader in the office furniture industry, recognized nationally for their product innovation, environmental stewardship, and timeless designs.

MTA prides itself on customer loyalty with longstanding customer relationships in the private and governmental sectors for over 20 years. Today, MTA boasts a 98.3% customer satisfaction rating.
